During this evening, young talent will get the chance to let their vocal talent shine on stage. You can get to know the four candidates via our instagram page ( kuumbavzw) in the coming weeks. There will also be two performances by already known artists.

Black Siba is an eighteen-year-old from Leuven with Congolese roots. She draws her inspiration from social themes in song, slam, dance and guitar with Michael Jackson, Chris Brown & John Mayer as sources of inspiration.

 AiméDOH is a Belgian singer-songwriter from DR-Congo. His songs are sung in Swahili and have a poetic tone. AiméDOH makes people dance, dream & cry.

Quatre.- is a young artist who will bring us soul, slam, poetry and rap. His lyrics express his desire for a better future for man and planet.

As part of the Afropolitan Festival, the KUUMBA cultural centre – or Flemish African House – located in the Matongé quarter, will move to BOZAR for a variety of fun children activities.

Is there a connection between taking a stand and rap? When social issues touch us deeply but nobody really talks about them, some artists use music to fill the silence.

Abou Mehdi, alias the black panther, has decided to offer you a series of evenings under the label "One Love" where for each of them a sub-theme will be defended. These composed evenings will oscillate between concerts and speeches. 
For this first evening in the heart of Matongé, the initiator of the project has decided to ask the question: My neighbourhood, safe?

In March our well known jam session will take place on 20/03. The evening will start with a duo playing a mix of Salsa from the 70's/80's, rumba & cumbia.

This duo consisting of Yannis Landrin and Stephen Scharmin will take you to more famous regions, but also to the far corners of the American Continent.  This power line-up presents you Cumbia, Son and pop music from the 70's from our southern neighbours. All this but with a strong wink to Rio, Havana and Baranquilla.
