Friday 15th we welcome you to a fun evening of spoken word where soft, loud, humble and confident voices come together! OutSpoken is our monthly evening of spoken word and poetry. This time, we're writing about the topic abundance. Everyone is welcome, whether you're new or have participated before. After the writing session, we'll listen to everything that's been written during the open mic.

A book about the shipwreck of a Trans-Atlantic slave ship, seen through the eyes of a mussel? Marijn Brouckaert wrote it, and Astrid Verplancke provided the illustrations. They explore their story during a poetic evening featuring performances by two Brussels spoken word collectives: SpeakEasy Spoken Word BXL & Outspoken. In this video, they offer a glimpse into their creative process.

Expect reading excerpts, poetic responses, and live drawings by illustrator Astrid Verplancke. Get the chance to ask questions to the authors and the spoken word artists from SpeakEasy Spoken Word BXL & Outspoken. Meet one of the collaborators during the mussel's writing process and discover an interactive exhibition featuring surprising anecdotes from the creative process. To round off the evening, Kuumba vzw will make your mouth water with their catering.
